RECAP Nigel Farage and Keir Starmer visit Scotland

The strategic defence review will be published today

The Prime Minister has announced that the UK will build up to 12 new nuclear-powered attack submarines and invest £15 billion in its warhead programme.

It follows the strategic defence review, published today, which makes a series of recommendations over the the UK’s military strategy.

Sir Keir Starmer was in Scotland this morning to discuss the details, where he faced criticism over spending still not hitting three per cent of GDP.

His announcement came as Nigel Farage held a press conference in Aberdeen, where he refused to apologise for his edited video of the Scottish Labour leader, Anas Sarwar. The Reform UK leader dodged a media event in Hamilton on Monday afternoon.
