MSPs are arriving at the Scottish Parliament for registration and induction following the recent election.
A total of 129 MSPs were elected on Friday, with 73 directly elected in constituencies and a further 56 regional, or list, MSPs selected by their parties and elected via the Additional Member voting system (the much talked about ‘peach ballot).
After all the votes were counted the SNP were by far the biggest party with 58 MSPs, followed by Labour and Reform UK in joint second place with 17 MSPs apiece.
The Green Party returned 15 MSPs, followed by the Conservative on 12 and the Liberal Democrats on 10.
And this year has seen the largest amount of fresh faces since the first parliament was elected in 1999 - a total of 64 new MSPs will be learning the ropes over the next few weeks.
Here are 27 pictures of the ‘class of 2026’ arriving at the Scottish Parliament to take on their democratic roles.
