Sir Keir Starmer has today announced his resignation as both the leader of the Labour Party and British Prime Minister.
It means that the UK will have a new premier as early as next month - with Andy Burnham in pole position to be the next resident of 10 Downing Street.
Whoever wins will become the seventh Prime Minsters in the last decade, since David Cameron presided over the Brexit vote.
Here’s how the morning played out in pictures, as Sir Keir addressed the assembled press in front of Downing Street.
