From a dabbing Lord Buckethead to a man dressed as a fishfinger, here are the candidates that caught voters' attention last night.
The UK is known for its quirky candidates during elections, from the Monster Raving Loony Party to Nick the Flying Brick or Baron Barnes Von Claptrap. Here are the most unothrodox characters from this year’s vote.
Lord Buckethead
Lord Buckethead was running in Theresa May’s constituency of Maidenhead. He celebrated winning 249 votes by doing a dab on stage with the Prime Minister. Check him out on Twitter if you need a laugh this morning.
Mr. Fishfinger
Running in the Liberal Democrat leader’s constituency of Westmorland & Lonsdale, Mr. Fishfinger secured 309 votes and managed to get himself noticed during Tim Farron’s victory speech.
Elmo
This Sesame Street favourite is actually Bobby Smith, a fathers’ rights activist who set up the Give Me Back Elmo Party to campaign for changing the family courts.

He stands as a candidate in the constituency of whoever the current Prime Minister is, and gained 3 votes in Theresa May’s Maidenhead seat. He also stood against David Cameron in Witney in 2015.
The Monster Raving Loony Party
The Monster Raving Loony Party have been making fun of British politics for over 30 years.
They have candidates in various constituencies, including Howling “Laud” Hope who ran in Theresa May’s Maidenhead seat and got 119 votes.
And Knigel Knapp who ran against Jeremy Corbyn in Islington North and received 106 votes.
