How Doctor Who baddies the Cybermen may have swung the Scottish Parliament election
This Scottish Parliament may be the first to be elected by a human-robot hive mind

“You belong to us. You shall be like us... You will return to the Earth and control it... Everything we decide is carried out. There are no mistakes... We have decided how you will be used... To struggle is futile.”
The Cybermen, who it should be remembered were very definitely ‘baddies’, had strong ideas about how humans should behave and who should run our affairs. Fortunately, they were fictional (so you can come out from behind the sofa if the mere mention of their name caused you to flee) and, of course, Doctor Who was there to save us.
However, it seems there are humans among us today who may actually be quite comfortable becoming sort of a cyborg, in the sense that they’re willing to let an AI chatbot help them decide who to vote for. A Survation poll found 13 per cent of 16 to 24-year-olds and 10 per cent of 25 to 34-year-olds had turned to a bot for advice.
So we may have the first Scottish Parliament elected by a human-robot hive mind, which perhaps explains a lot...
