Curse of the Judean People's Front strikes Jeremy Corbyn's Your Party once again!
As it quits en masse, Your Party’s Scottish committee accuses ‘the UK leadership’ of nothing less than the sidelining of ‘an entire nation’

“Listen, the only people we hate more than the Romans are the Judean People’s Front... splitters...” explains Reg, leader of the People’s Front of Judea, in Monty Python’s Life of Brian. If that quote seems familiar, we admit we’ve used it before while ribbing Jeremy Corbyn’s ‘Your Party’ party, but it’s just too pertinent to resist another airing.
Already riven by a split between Corbyn and another ex-Labour MP, Zarah Sultana, now Your Party’s entire Interim Scottish Executive Committee has resigned, citing a “consistent denial of autonomy for Scotland, and a willingness by the UK leadership to sideline an entire nation by withholding funding and mailing lists and refusing to engage”. An entire nation!? How dare they? (The ex-committee consisted of 12 people.)
The, er, ‘splitters’ added that “the need for a new party on the left in Scotland couldn’t be more urgent”. Given the trouble Corbyn and co had in coming up with a name, the new lot may welcome some suggestions.
Your Scottish Party, the Party People of Scotland, the Popular People’s Front of Scotia... the options, and the splits, appear endless.
