Lewis Capaldi ranked among world's 'sexiest celebrity voices' - two Scottish actors also make the list

Spanish-born singer Rosalía, whose fourth album Lux was sung in 14 languages and smashed several records, topped the rankings with her flamenco-influenced vocals.

In second place is the US actress Zoë Kravitz, who alongside her acting career is part of an American R&B and electropop duo called LOLAWOLF.

Participants of the survey were attracted to her “relaxed and husky” register - which they said matched her “cool girl aesthetic”.

The first of the Scots to appear on the list is James McAvoy, who was ranked in an impressive sixth place.

Born in Glasgow, Mr McAvoy was brought up by his maternal grandparents in Drumchapel.

His big screen breakthrough came playing Mr. Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia in 2005, and has since gone on to star in a string of hit films including Atonement, the X-Men series, Split and Glass.

He has recently made his directorial debut with California Schemin', a true story about two Scottish musicians, which recently premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival.

Game of Thrones star Richard Madden ranked in ninth place, his alluring Renfrewshire accent having charmed the participants.

The 39-year-old started out at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland before touring with Shakespeare's Globe as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet.

He rose to fame when he appeared in Game of Thrones between 2011 and 2013.

Fellow Celts Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan all make the sexy voices cut.

During the study, each participant listened to five randomly assigned 30-second clips of 100 celebrities, without knowing who they were, and then rated them on various factors including pitch, speed and attractiveness.

Scores for each celebrity were averaged and scaled so that each factor contributed up to 25 points, creating a final “Sexy Voice Score” out of 100.
