A far-right activist who achieved notoriety in the wake of incendiary remarks about migrants, race and the Manchester Arena bombing is to helm a series of shows at Donald Trump’s flagship Scottish property this week.
Katie Hopkins, who has repeatedly drawn criticism for her views over the years, with several venues pulling her events, is scheduled to perform two nights at the US president’s Turnberry hotel and golf resort.
The shows are billed as part of the 51 year-old’s latest ‘Free Range’ stand up comedy tour, where she promises to bring her “unapologetic humour,” with “no rules, no limits, no apologies.”
Hundreds of anti-racist protesters have gathered outside some UK venues she has played in recent weeks, while several venues have pulled her shows altogether over the years amid a backlash.

In 2017, Ms Hopkins sparked anger after writing on X, then known as Twitter, that there must be a “final solution” to dealing with terrorists following the Manchester Arena attack. She later changed the term “final solution” to “true solution”, describing the earlier phrase as a “mis-type”.
That same year, she was ordered to pay food writer Jack Monroe £24,000 in damages, plus £107,000 in legal costs, in a libel action brought after a row over two tweets which Ms Monroe said caused “serious harm” to her reputation.
She has also been roundly criticised for an incident in which she compared migrants to cockroaches, and for claiming that a photograph of a drowned three year-old Syrian refugee had been staged.
Earlier this month, she uploaded footage to her social media channels while attending the scene of a bonfire in Northern Ireland which featured a replica mosque. The event in Moygashel in County Tyrone was described by the Police Service of Northern Ireland as a “hate display.”

The Turnberry performances are set to take place on Thursday and Friday evening in the Donald J Trump Ballroom, ordinarily used for weddings and corporate functions.
Mr Trump and Ms Hopkins have repeatedly praised and supported one another on social media over the years, with the 80 year-old describing her as a “respected columnist” and recirculating her posts.
On her website advertising the shows, Ms Hopkins is offering her supporters a link for a 20 per cent discount on accommodation at Turnberry. In addition to standard tickets, Ms Hopkins is offering a £90 gold ticket, which includes a “VIP meet and greet” event before the show in Turnberry’s Crystal Room.
In a video posted on her Instagram and X accounts to promote the events, Ms Hopkins filmed herself speaking to a Donald Trump impersonator, who tells her it is “such a great show.”
It is not the first time she has performed at Turnberry. As revealed by The Scotsman, she staged a show at the South Ayrshire resort in June 2025, sparking condemnation from the Scottish Green MSP, Patrick Harvie, who said it was “unsurprising” that Ms Hopkins was welcome at the venue, given she had “built her career on pushing the same kind of vile and dehumanising views as Donald Trump.”
