An 11-year-old girl is being mourned after her body was pulled from a river near a Gorebridge beauty spot.
The tragic incident took place on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the Gore Glen Woodland Park area after receiving reports of concern for a young girl on Thursday, August 6.
Police confirmed that officers arrived at the scene at around 12.40pm.
Following searches for the 11-year-old throughout Thursday, a body was pulled from the water at 4.25pm.
At around 2.33pm, two ambulances, a special operations team and a critical care paramedic from the Scottish Ambulance Service were dispatched.
Two fire appliances were dispatched to Shank Bridge, located above the Gore Water, at 4.29pm to “support emergency service partners” according to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Reports suggest that traffic was diverted away from the scene and access points to Gore Glen Woodland Park were closed by police during the search and rescue operation.
According to police, the young girl was found in the Gore Water, which runs underneath Shank Bridge.
Emergency services were seen on the A7 bridge throughout the day and into the evening.
It came after reports of concern for the young girl focused on the Gore Glen area.
Gore Glen Woodland Park is a popular beauty spot in Gorebridge which offers panoramic views of the Pentland Hills.
The park, which was the site of Scotland’s gunpowder mill in 1794, also has an eight-mile long walk which follows a small river.
Details of the circumstances surrounding the young girl’s death have not yet been confirmed.
The young girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed.
A cause of death has not yet been determined.
Police said that her death is currently being treated as “unexplained” with enquiries continuing.
