Woman, 76, in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car as police launch probe

Police have arrested a 38-year-old woman in connection with the incident

An elderly woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after she was struck by a car.

The 76-year-old pedestrian was hit by a white Suzuki SX4 on Nethermains Road in Denny, Stirling.

She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment for what police described as serious injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured.

A 38-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and inquiries are ongoing.

Constable Ian Marshall, of Police Scotland’s road policing unit in Stirling, said: “An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to this incident.

“I would urge any witnesses or anyone who have dash-cam footage from the area to get in touch.

“Please call 101, quoting reference 1873 of 9 January, 2025.”
