Edinburgh bus stop transformed into Scotland subs bench ahead of World Cup
Excitement is building in the Capital with just over two weeks to go until Scotland take to the football world stage
A bus shelter on Edinburgh’s Princes Street has been transformed into a Scotland dugout ahead of the World Cup.
Shoppers can experience what it’s like to watch the national team from the side-lines on the four luxurious padded seats which have replaced the shelter’s plastic benches, while looking up at floor to ceiling images of iconic Scotland players past and present.

The revamped shelter, which is situated near Romanes & Paterson, opposite East Princes Street Gardens, has been erected by JD Sports, the official retail partner of the Scottish FA, marking the launch of its World Cup campaign We’re In.
The campaign is the fronted by the commentating legend and former Scotland star Ally McCoist, alongside current stars Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour and Kieran Tierney.

It features adidas’ new Night Sky home kit, inspired by the Saltire and designed for Scotland’s return to the global stage, as well as the new pinstripe Trace Scarlett away strip.
The national team boss announced his final 26-man squad for the tournament last week, and the countdown is well and truly on until Scotland take to the football world stage in Boston for their first game against Haiti on June 14.
The Scots then take on Morocco on June 19, before facing off against Brazil on June 24.

Pubs and bars in Edinburgh are able to stay open through the night for the World Cup games, with the city’s licensing board granting an extension lasting until 30 minutes after the final whistle for all matches.
