Man dies at Scottish community centre as police increase presence at 'worrying time'
An arrest has been made after a man died and another was injured at a community centre.
Police were called to a report of two injured men in the Burnbank Centre in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, around 3.50pm on Monday.

A 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and a 59-year-old was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police said a 56-year-old man had been arrested and investigations were ongoing.


Superintendent Richard Taylor, from Motherwell police station, said: “We believe this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
“We have an increased police presence in the area as we understand this could be a very upsetting and worrying time for the local community. Anyone with concerns is asked to speak to these officers.”

Hide AdPolice said there were some closures in place on Whitehill Road and Purdie Street, which were likely to remain until after midday on Tuesday, with limited access to shops. They advised members of the public to avoid the area.
