‘Callous’ thief steals flat screen TVs from Sight Scotland Veterans charity
Police in Paisley have launched an appeal to help reveal the identity of a thief who stole from a blind veterans charity.
Staff members at Sight Scotland Veterans, formerly known as the Scottish War Blind Society, discovered two large flat screen televisions were missing from the charity’s centre in Hawkhead Road in the town on Thursday.
Inpsector Tracy Harkins, investigating, called those responsible for the theft “callous”.
She said: 'It beggers belief that someone can be so callous that they could steal from a local charity.
“The centre offers an excellent facilty for ex-service men and women living with significant sight loss and is often the only time that the service users get to socailise in a safe enviroment.
She added: “If you have any information that may assist us in our enquireis please contact Police Scotland on telephone number 101 or if you wish to remain anonymous telephone Crime Stoppers on 0800555111'.
Sight Scotland Veterans also have a centre in Wilkieston, West Lothian.
