Thousands of runners took to the streets of Edinburgh and East Lothian on Sunday for this year’s Edinburgh Marathon 2026.
The city-to-coast route started at Potterrow and finished in Musselburgh, passing plenty of the Capital’s iconic sights on the way.
Runners had to contend with a heatwave, as Edinburgh sweltered in the sun, with temperatures hitting 21C around lunchtime as runners passed through Portobello and headed down the coast.
Commenting on the Edinburgh Marathon Festival Facebook page, organisers said: “A huge well done to everyone who took part in the races this weekend - you were all amazing!
“Your hard work and dedication paid off, and you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves for crossing that finish line. Now it's time to relax and enjoy the rest of the weekend!”
