Lidl launches ‘must-have’ limited-edition Caledonian tracksuit
As Scotland gets ready to cheer on the men’s team return to the World Cup, Lidl is launching branded Scottish tracksuits.
As the nation gets ready to cheer on our national team, Lidl is marking the moment with the launch of its first ever Scotland-only merch drop: the limited-edition Caledonian Co-ord - what might just be, the team say, the “must-have” (unofficial) uniform of a Scottish summer.
Landing as one in three (35%) Scots share excitement for the upcoming summer of sport, Lidl is taking a national icon and remixing it - drawing on the tracksuit’s unique status as a symbol of identity, pride and Scottish style.
The launch comes as Lidl also lifts the lid on Scotland’s love of tracksuits.
16% of Scots say it's a staple in their wardrobe, with one in five tracksuit fans saying they wear one every day - suggesting that for some the look is as much a part of their identity as it is everyday life.
Designed for moments with your ‘team’, the Caledonian Co-ord is built for match days, sofa sessions and every emotional twist and turn that comes with supporting Scotland.
Finished in Lidl blue and inspired by classic sports styling, each limited-edition set is crafted from heavyweight cotton and features a woven Lidl badge, official Lidl tartan pockets, and embroidered Lidl detailing on the cuff and leg - delivering a premium take on a fan favourite.
Priced at £19.98, and finished with a fashionably oversized silhouette inspired by 90s streetwear, the Caledonian Co-ord nods to one of Scotland’s formative moments on the world stage, while setting the tone for the summer ahead.
Only 1,000 Caledonian Co-ords will be available on a first come, first served basis, so fans are encouraged to sign up for launch reminders at www.lidlcaledoniancoord.co.uk ahead of the drop at 09.00am on 2 June. All proceeds will be donated to the Neighbourly Foundation, which provides grants to good causes in local communities.
