Some Scottish restaurants have used lockdown to spruce up their dining rooms, or go for an entirely new look.

They will re-emerge like beautiful butterflies (unlike us, as we’ve put on two stone and can’t get out of our chrysalis).

The Bull

(185 Great Western Road, Glasgow G4 9EB)

Formerly Munro's, this is less of a makeover and more of a completely new venue.

Opening on 26 April, The Bull is owned by bar operators Macmerry300 and will offer 26 varieties of beer, cocktails including the absinthe infused Loco con Coco, and a menu that focuses on brunch and beef.

Osso

(1 Innerleithen Road, Peebles, EH45 8BA)

Edinburgh company Splintr revamped Osso's interior, and it's looking beautiful.

They're reopening from April 28, from Wednesday to Saturday at first, and you can book online.

Bird & Bell

(27 Eastwoodmains Road, Giffnock, Glasgow G46 6QE)

After May 12, you can visit the Bird & Bell restaurant at newly revamped hotel, The Redhurst, in Glasgow.

It will offer all-day dining, with an outdoor terrace and bistro classics on the menu.

Windlestraw

(Galashiels Rd, Walkerburn EH43 6AA)

This five-star hotel and restaurant will be reopening on May 18.

They’ve upgraded their bedrooms, as well as their dining space, with new soft furnishings (including an orange camouflage sofa) and increased covers.

Fisher & Donaldson's Garden Cafe

(Ceres Rd, Cupar KY15 5JT)

Stuff yourself with the fudge doughnuts at Fisher & Donaldson's outdoor Garden Cafe, with green banquettes under a marquee.

No wasps, no wind.

Blasta

(5 King St, Stanley, Perth PH1 4ND)

David Barnett, the chef patron of Blasta, has pretty much done all the work himself, when it comes to his new restaurant.

Its opening date is yet to be confirmed, but it will be roughly when they're allowed to serve alcohol (and when he can find someone to take the reins at his 11 Perth Road takeaway).

The Hoebridge

(Gattonside, Melrose TD6 9LZ)

Although they re-modelled the restaurant when they took it over in 2014, the team at The Hoebridge have given it another freshen-up.

They're taking bookings from May 20.

Barolo

(92-94 Mitchell St, Glasgow G1 3NQ)

Barolo had a refurbishment last September, but they haven't been able to show it off yet.

See their social media for updates on the reopening.
