Owners of Gardeners Cottage, the historic restaurant situated in Edinburgh's Royal Terrace Gardens at the foot of Calton Hill, have recently opened a new venture, Quay Commons in Commercial Street.

Due to the popularity of Gardeners Cottage (which was built in 1836 and originally home to the gardener), the need for more space to accommodate guests was becoming obvious so the idea for Quay Commons - a prep kitchen/gathering space - was born.

Ultimately Quay Commons  will be dedicated to baking and making the items that Gardeners Cottage is famous for, but it'll also offer up food and drinks of its own.

Guests are welcome to come by  after work and enjoy some food over a bottle of carefully cultivated boutique wine (and at off license prices no less, as the Commons is also a fully licensed wine shop).

Or pop by in the morning for a properly roasted coffee, a warm pain au chocolate, a freshly baked loaf of sourdough, or perhaps even a black pudding and apple brioche morning bun.

With a range of breads, cured meats and the chance to try newly designed dishes, Quay Commons is an ideal place for any foodie visiting Edinburgh.
