The premium restaurant on Union Street has been redesigned to incorporate a new central island tubular brass cocktail bar and can accommodate up to 200 diners, with two areas for private dining – including the “Primo Piano” mezzanine complete with its own separate bar.

The redesign breathes new life into a restaurant that was devastated by a fire in November 2018, and features deep booths for dining and an open plan pizza kitchen.

Amarone restaurant is part of the DRG portfolio, who have more than 20 restaurants across Scotland, Mario Gizzi of DRG said: “It was a difficult decision to close the restaurant, but we felt that instead of doing a quick tidy up to repair damage, we had the opportunity to remodel the restaurant to offer a world class Italian eating and drinking experience in the Granite City.

“The designs are stunning, taking inspiration from the finest central cocktail bars in the world. With construction now finished, we are delighted to be re-opening this week as well as taking reservations for festive dining and a special New Year Gala dinner."

The re-opening of Amarone in Aberdeen has created a number of new part-time and full-time roles in the business bringing the total number of employees to 46.
