Every March 17 millions of people across the world raise a glass to Ireland’s patrol saint.
And Edinburgh isn’t short of Irish pubs where you can order a pint of the black stuff in traditional surroundings.

1. O'Neills
Located on Hunter Square, O'Neills is the latest Irish pub to open in Scotland's Capital - it was formerly The Tron. They have a full week of St Patrick's Day events, including the chance to grab a £3 pint of Guiness. | Google Maps

2. The Boston Bar Old Town
Another newish addition to Edinburgh's pub scene - The Boston Bar is in the premises formerly occupied by The Globe on Niddry Street. They offer live music and big screen sports every night of the week. They are open until 1am on schoolnights, at until 3am at weekends. | Getty Images

3. Boston Bar New Town
One Boston Bar not enough for you? You're in luck then - there's also a New Town version on Hanover Street. Offering more of the same, it used to be Bar Soba. | Google Maps

4. Malones Leith
Formerly the Constitution Bar, Malones Leith on Constitution Street joined Edinburgh's Irish pub scene a couple of years ago - and is a sister pub to the original Malones in Haymarket. They are one of the few pubs in Edinburgh to serve Tennent’s Tank Lager, with a menu that specialises in fresh and local seafood. | Google Maps
