Kimpton Blythswood Square has announced that it is proudly displaying the LGBT flag on the roof of the hotel’s £2,500 per night penthouse.

Murray Thomson, general manager said: “At Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel we believe one of our greatest strengths is our diverse workplace.  We value every single member of the team and celebrate their unique talents.”

Along with the flag change, the hotel say they are spreading the love with a charity cocktail and colourful Afternoon Tea, all in support of Glasgow’s thriving LGBT community.

The team behind the hotels’ new restaurant, Bo & Birdy, have created the limited edition ‘Pink Pound’ cocktail.

From now until Friday 26th July, £1 from every Pink Pound sold, will be donated to Stonewall Scotland, a charity which supports lesbian, gay, bi and trans people in Scotland and abroad.

Management say staff at the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel will also be marching in the Mardi Gla parade on Saturday 20th July, which begins at Kelvingrove park, before passing through Blythswood Street and finishing at George Square.

Murray Thomson added: “We’re delighted to be supporting Stonewall Scotland, a charity which is celebrating its 30th birthday this year and is committed in protecting its community near and far.”

In the Salon Bar, the hotel’s popular Afternoon Tea has been given a little "glow-up" to celebrate Pride.

Overlooking the Blythswood gardens, guests can enjoy classic Blythswood sandwiches and fresh scones, followed by bubblegum and candy floss cones, vanilla rainbow sponge and white chocolate and strawberry unicorn macarons.

The Pride Afternoon Tea will be available from Tuesday 16th July until Friday 26th July and is priced at£35 per person.

Finally, the team will be encouraging guests to fill out the hotel’s ‘love letters’ which can be found in Bo & Birdy restaurant, the Salon Bar and guest bedrooms. The letters can be written to a person or place and can even be artistic in their nature if words simply aren’t enough.

The Kimpton Blythswood will then display the love letters in the hotel reception from Saturday 17th August.
