Christmas cocktail: Bramble's mince pie old fashioned
Mike Aikman from Bramble and Mothership in Edinburgh shares his recipe for a festive old fashioned.
Ingredients
- 50ml Highland Single Malt such as Lidl Ben Bracken
- 10-15ml mince pie syrup*
- Dash bitters (optional)
- *For the mince pie syrup
- 100g mincemeat
- 100g of sugar
- 200ml water

Method
For the mince pie syrup
Heat all ingredients gently to dissolve sugar, strain into a small bottle.
For the mince pie old fashioned
Stir over all ingredients over a large block of ice and pour into an old fashioned glass.
Garnish with an orange twist and serve with a mini mince pie on the side.
