If you’re owned a cat for any amount of time, then you’re sure recognise what pet owners now commonly call ‘the zoomies’.

5. They want to litter box cleaned!
Yes, it may simply be that they are unhappy the litter box is not clean. Do they poop then have a post-poop zoomie? It may be they are not happy at the state of their toilet, so give it a clean. Photo: Getty Images/Canva Pro

6. It is just their nature
Cats are what you call crepuscular creatures, which means they will naturally be at their most active at dawn and dusk - which is often when they get the zoomies. So if everything else has been ruled out, it may just be purely their nature. Photo: Getty Images/Canva Pro

7. Pent-up energy
It is not unusual for a cat to sleep for the majority of the day, so sometimes a quick fire zoomie allows them to get out their pent-up energy after a day of rest. Bit like a human really, isnt it? Photo: Getty Images/Canva Pro

8. Fleas
One of the more negative reasons cats get the zoomies is flea. Cats sometimes have the zooms and act crazy because they have fleas - often when miaowing is involved. Photo: Getty Images/Canva Pro
