VisionQuest: Release date, cast and everything we know about the new MCU series so far

Here’s what we know about VisionQuest so far - including its release date.
The release date for Marvel’s VisionQuest has been revealed, with the series set to premiere on Disney Plus later this year.
English actor Paul Bettany will reprise his role as Vision, returning to the small screen for the final instalment of what Marvel is calling the WandaVision trilogy, which also includes Agatha All Along.
Picking up after the events of 2021’s WandaVision, the new series will follow Vision as he attempts to regain his memory and humanity.
Due to begin streaming from October, the cast of VisionQuest also includes James Spader - who will once again appear as villain Ultron - as well as Scottish actor Ruaridh Mollica, whose casting as Tommy Shepherd - or Maximoff, as he’s also known - has excited fans.

Here is everything we know about VisionQuest so far, including release date, cast and more.
What is VisionQuest about?
VisionQuest will follow Paul Bettany as Vision, as the character attempts to regain his memory and humanity following the events of WandaVision.
Speaking on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Bettany described the series as “moving”.
He said: “It manages to feel very much like it’s somehow a part of that world, an end to a trilogy of sorts, whilst also being very much its own thing, and it is just really good. I’m really proud of it.”

In a trailer revealed during Disney Upfront 2026, those in attendance even got a glimpse of Ultron in action, with Bettany also sharing that the relationship between Vision and the villain is a key aspect of the series.
He said: “The story is largely revolved around that relationship, and it’s real fun. It’s fun stuff.”
As Vision begins his journey to connect with his past, he will also encounter human versions of robots and AIs created by Tony Stark. This is said to include the likes of JARVIS, FRIDAY, EDITH, and more.
VisionQuest will premiere on Disney Plus from Wednesday, October 14.
How many episodes of VisionQuest are there?
There will be eight episodes of VisionQuest, which are likely to be released on Disney Plus weekly.
VisionQuest cast: Who is in the new Marvel series?
As well as familiar faces such as Bettany and Spader, VisionQuest will expand the cast of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While Tommy Shepherd has already appeared in both WandaVision and 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Edinburgh-raised actor Ruaridh Mollica - who is a Scottish BAFTA nominee - will take over the role in VisionQuest. Joe Locke played Tommy’s twin, Billy - AKA Willian Kaplan/Wiccan - in Agatha All Along.

Meanwhile, Faran Tahir will reprise his role as Raza; the leader of the Ten Rings, who was last seen in 2008 film Iron Man.
While there are still likely some surprises in store, here is the full VisionQuest cast so far:
- Paul Bettany as Vision
- James Spader as Ultron
- Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy Shepherd (AKA Speed/Tommy Maximoff)
- James D'Arcy as JARVIS
- T'Nia Miller as JOCASTA
- Emily Hampshire as EDITH
- Orla Brady as FRIDAY
- Todd Sashwick as Paladin
- Faran Tahir as Raza
- Henry Lewis as DUM-E
- Jonathan Sayer as U
- Lauren Morais as Lisa Molinari (unconfirmed)
- Diane Morgan
- Cristian Lavin
- Mary McDonnell
Where was the show filmed?
Not much is known about the filming locations for VisionQuest so far, however it is believed to largely have been shot at London’s Pinewood Studios under the working name of Tin Man.
In addition to Pinewood Studios, it is believed that filming also took place in the village of Chilterns, England.
Last March, journalist Jane Franklin shared on X that filming was starting in the village from April with some sources stating it was for the Marvel show.
For the shoot, the village pub was renamed to “The Old Selkie” with a Scottish flag raised outside the building.
It wouldn’t be the first time that Vision’s character has “visited” Scotland, as during Avengers: Infinity War both Wanda Maximoff and Vision were hiding from Thanos’ Black Order in Edinburgh.
The production took over areas around the city centre such as Cockburn Street and the Royal Mile, as well as Edinburgh Waverley station which was the background for a dramatic fight scene.
As well as the Scottish capital, St Abbs in the Scottish Borders became New Asgard in the MCU - though this is somewhat unlikely to reappear in VisionQuest.
Instead, this Scottish location could be significant to Vision’s attempts to restore his memory - perhaps if he is attempting to retrace his steps, or his relationship with Wanda.
VisionQuest will premiere on Disney Plus from October 14, 2026.
