New Scottish online venture to help millions of erectile dysfunction sufferers

“Our online set-up means men across the UK can now take charge of their health with confidence, convenience, and privacy” – David Massie, co-founder

Millions of men suffering from erectile dysfunction are the focus of a new online healthcare service.

Many of those affected by the condition avoid looking for medical help for as long as possible, often due to embarrassment or convenience barriers.

Glasgow-headquartered venture Talo aims to help address the sensitive issue by offering discreet, next-day delivery of proven erectile dysfunction (ED0 treatments.

The firm has partnered with Eastwood Pharmacy, an established Scottish community pharmacy group, which handles all clinical and dispensing services. Talo serves a UK-only customer base.

The service makes receiving treatment “quick, private and straightforward”, with prompt access to licensed ED treatments commonly used in the UK.

Assessment is said to take less than five minutes, with applicants checked for suitability by answering a few short health questions. A pharmacist at Eastwood reviews the answers the same day and, where appropriate, approves a plan with a recommended treatment which is dispensed safely.

All medicines are sourced through regulated UK pharmacy supply chains and checked by pharmacists.

David Massie, who runs six NHS community pharmacies throughout Scotland having set up Eastwood Pharmacy in Glasgow in 2013, is the clinical lead at Talo.

He said: “We believe quality healthcare should be accessible to everyone. Far too many patients are waiting too long for an appointment with their GP, fuelling demand for faster, private options.

“It’s tough for men to talk about the subject of erectile dysfunction and they’re certainly not going to walk into a pharmacy and discuss it over the counter as it can be complex and intrusive.

“Our online set-up means men across the UK can now take charge of their health with confidence, convenience, and privacy. It’s a lot more comfortable and every inquiry is handled in the strictest of confidence.”

Massie’s brother-in-law Gavin Bell, who sold his Edinburgh-based performance marketing agency Yatter in 2025, is also a co-founder.

“When I was exiting Yatter, I started looking at industries where the customer experience hasn’t caught up with modern life,” he said. “Healthcare jumped out straight away. If someone wants a prescription today, they’re still calling at 8am hoping for an appointment, then going to the GP, then heading to a pharmacy. Before they know it, half the day has gone. It’s an experience that hasn’t modernised.

“Being someone technology-minded, I got motivated to come up with a solution and reached out to my brother-in-law, who runs a number of community pharmacies, and explained that we needed to look at creating an online service.

“It only took a few conversations and we agreed that combining our skillsets to create a more modern and customer-focused service was the way forward.

“In short, we’re looking to disrupt the traditional GP to pharmacy to treatment journey by making it quick, easy and enjoyable online.”

Expansion plans are already in motion. Beyond ED, the Talo team is building towards a broader platform that uses technology to make everyday healthcare more proactive and more affordable, including at-home blood testing to help men and women understand their health before problems develop.
