New deal paves way for more Tim Hortons coffee shops in Scotland
“This agreement is an important milestone as we continue to scale the Tim Hortons brand in the UK market” – Deepinder Batth, CEO, Tim Hortons UK&I
An agreement has been struck that paves the way for more Tim Hortons coffee shops in Scotland and across the UK.
The iconic Canadian coffee shop brand, which has become a familiar sight in several areas of Scotland, is renowned for its coffee, freshly prepared breakfast and all-day food menu, donuts and Timbits - its donut bites.
Tim Hortons first opened in the UK in Glasgow in 2017 and currently operates 69 stores across the UK.

Tim Hortons UK & Ireland, the master franchisee in the UK and Ireland for the brand, and an affiliate of Restaurant Brands International (RBI), the global brand owner of Tim Hortons, have now agreed to an extension of the master franchise development agreement until 2045. In addition, £26.7 million of equity has been issued by Tim Hortons UK&I to fund the business and create a “strong foundation” for the future growth plans of the brand in the UK and Ireland markets.
The latest agreement follows a strong trading performance from Tim Hortons UK&I in 2025 with system sales growing to £105m, from £99m in 2024, and like-for-like sales up 9 per cent in the continuing business across the same period. Most recently, the group reported strong trading over the Christmas period with like-for-like sales up 10 per cent, year on year.
Deepinder Batth, chief executive of Tim Hortons UK&I, said: “Deep work was completed in 2024 and 2025 to triangulate core brand positioning, gap in market and the brand’s right to win in a very competitive coffee shop segment in the UK.
“This agreement is an important milestone as we continue to scale the Tim Hortons brand in the UK market. Both shareholders have shown deep commitment to the opportunity and are fully aligned on the long term potential of the brand in the market.
“This agreement demonstrates our shared vision and commitment between RBI and ourselves as we work closely together to build success in the UK and Ireland. Capitalising on the momentum achieved in 2025, this investment will enable us to put our ambitious growth plans into action.”
