“We are a firm with exceptional people, deep sector expertise and a strong international platform” – Richard Griffiths
Pinsent Masons, the global legal giant that employs more than 550 people across its three Scottish operations, has elected Richard Griffiths as its new managing partner.
Griffiths is global head of the firm’s property group, which has grown by 13 per cent over the last two years under his leadership. He will work alongside John Maciver, who was elected senior partner in July.
Griffiths, who will succeed Laura Cameron with effect from November 1, said: “We are a firm with exceptional people, deep sector expertise and a strong international platform. I will build on those strengths to lead the firm confidently into its next chapter and secure its long-term success.

“I’d like to thank Laura for guiding the firm through a period of considerable investment and change with tremendous leadership and dedication. She has remained focused on positioning the firm for long-term success and I look forward to building on the strong foundations she has helped create.”
The firm has some 490 partners and 3,500 people operating from 30 locations around the world. In Scotland, it has offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
Cameron said: “I am immensely proud of the strength of our business and all that we have achieved. We have exceptional people, client relationships built on trust and experience, and an unwavering appetite for innovation, all of which gives me great confidence in our future.
“My congratulations to Richard. I know that he has the vision, judgement and conviction to lead the firm into its next chapter of growth.”
Senior partner elect Maciver added: “I’m delighted to congratulate Richard on his election as managing partner. Having joined as a trainee to leading one of our largest global groups, Richard has already made a significant impact on our business.
“He brings deep expertise along with a genuine commitment to our people, our clients and our culture, and I am looking forward to working together as we shape the firm’s future.
“I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Laura Cameron for her exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to the firm. She leaves a lasting legacy that has strengthened our business for the future.”
