Linn Products: £3m investment keeps iconic Scottish hi-fi firm in fine tune
The brand is one of the most revered among audiophiles and music lovers around the world.
Linn Products, the groundbreaking Scottish hi-fi manufacturer, has reported steady annual sales as it committed more than £3 million to research and development.
The firm’s accounts for the year to the end of September 2025 showed that revenues came in at £22.2m, similar to the prior year. The company delivered a net profit of £1.57m.
Linn, which designs and manufactures its high-end audio equipment at a state-of-the-art factory near Glasgow, said it had continued its “sustained investment in innovation”, committing £3.2m to research and development to improve and expand its range of globally-acclaimed hi-fi products.

The year saw the introduction of several key products, including the fifth-generation Majik DSM digital music player, reference-level Klimax Solo 500 power amplifier, and a duo of top-of-the-range upgrades for the iconic Linn Sondek LP12 turntable.
Demand was said to have remained robust across the company’s three performance tiers - Majik, Selekt and its flagship Klimax range, where prices are well into the thousands of pounds.
The firm said performance was stable across core markets such as the UK, the US and Germany, while sales were also strong in the Nordics, Australia and Japan.
Gilad Tiefenbrun, Linn’s chief executive, said: “It’s been a year of continued progress across Linn. By investing in our people, advancing our technology and enhancing our manufacturing capability, we’re ensuring we remain at the top of the global hi-fi industry.”
The privately-owned company, which was founded in the early 1970s, has been investing heavily to remain at the cutting edge of the audio world, amid a streaming revolution and an ongoing vinyl revival.
In 2024, Linn invested more than £3m during its 50th anniversary year in a bid to keep it at the forefront of audio innovation.
That period saw a landmark collaboration between the Scottish firm and Sir Jony Ive’s LoveFrom collective to create a 50th anniversary limited edition turntable, the Sondek LP12-50 - a product launch which is said to have resulted in the largest global press reaction in the hi-fi firm’s history.
Linn employs scores of people at its headquarters at Waterfoot, on the outskirts of Glasgow.
