For the 40th year Forbes magazine has ranked the wealthiest people on Earth for its annual World’s Billionaires List.
This year there are a record 3,428 billionaires making the grade with a combined net worth of $20.1 trillion - that’s up $4 trillion from last year and is the largest concentration of wealth ever recorded.
Once again Elon Musk tops the list by a considerable distance, with 20 people now worth more than $100 billion (up from just 15 last year).
There are 390 newcomers, including Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Dr. Dre and Roger Federer.
Meanwhile American President Donald Trump’s net worth rose 27 per cent to $6.5 billion, making him the 645th richest person in the world.
Here are the top 20 richest billionaires according to the list.

1. Elon Musk - $839 billion
The world's richest man - by quite some distance - is still Tesla, SpaceX and X owner Elon Musk. In November 2021 he became the first person ever to be worth $300 billion and he's now nearly trebled his fortune to a huge $839 billion. His involvement in politics helped Donald Trump become the American President for the second time but the two men later had a spectacular falling out, while his involvement with the White House was divisive to say the least - hitting the value of Tesla stock in particular. His overall riches, however, continue to grow unabated. It's likely only a matter of time before he breaks through the $1,000 billion barrier. | AFP via Getty Images

2. Larry Page - $257 billion
Larry Page has had a good last 12 months, climbing from seventh to second in the rich list with wealth totalling $257 billion - that's up from $133.1 billion in January 2025. He co-founded Google in 1998 and has watched the money roll in ever since. | Getty Images

3. Sergey Brin - $237 billion
Fellow Google founder Sergey Brin may be pipped by his colleague Larry Page when it comes to bank balances, but he still has an estimated worth of $237 billion meaning he squeezes into the top three richest people on the planet. 2025 seemed to be a good year from him - 12 months ago he was 'only' worth $155.4 billion. | AFP via Getty Images

4. Jeff Bezos - $224 billion
Amazon founder and executive chairman has dropped from second to fourth place in the last 12 months, with a fortune of around $224 billion. That's down from the $248.1 billion he was worth at the start of 2025. | AFP via Getty Images
