‘Exceptional opportunity’ arises to buy landmark Perthshire hotel for some £2 million
“The hotel has been in the family now for two generations and it is time to pass the stewardship on to the next owner”
A Perthshire hotel has hit the market with a price tag of about £2 million, in what property agents are describing as “an exceptional opportunity”.
Red House Hotel in Coupar Angus is said to enjoy a high-profile roadside location with the town centre only a few minutes’ walk away.
Property firm Graham + Sibbald said the 20-bedroom hotel presented an “exceptional opportunity to acquire a substantial and long-established hospitality, function and leisure complex occupying a prominent trading position”. The firm is seeking offers over £1.95m for the freehold interest.

Vendor Alan Bannerman said: “The hotel has been in the family now for two generations and it is time to pass the stewardship on to the next owner. We have been delighted with the success the hotel has given the family over the years, but it is now time to retire.”
Peter Seymour, senior director of hotel and leisure with Graham + Sibbald, said: “The Red House Hotel is a wonderful and incredibly busy town hotel. It benefits from considerable tourist and corporate visitors, as well as having an excellent reputation locally for food.
“This will suit both the independent operator, as well as small to medium size groups looking to expand into this area.”
Extended over the years from the original red sandstone building, the property has been developed to provide a wide range of trading areas including a bar-restaurant with a glazed conservatory with retractable walls, a public bar and a function suite capable of seating up to 160 guests.
