Electronics training specialist pushes into Scotland after property deal at key business park

“This is a major step forward in our mission to make high-quality electronics training more accessible to professionals and businesses throughout the UK” – Dan Bloyce, Electronics Group

One of the UK’s largest electronics training specialists has expanded into Scotland after taking space at an Aberdeen business park.

The Electronics Group has secured 1,546 square feet of space at Davidson House, Innovation Park in Bridge of Don.

The new facility will become the firm’s third UK training centre and its first in Scotland, complementing its established headquarters in Leeds and its second centre in Cirencester, opened in summer 2024. The Davidson House suite has been taken on an initial two-year lease.

The Aberdeen training centre is scheduled to open this month and will initially employ two people, with further recruitment plans as the business continues to grow. It will deliver a wide range of certified training courses and electronics skills programmes. The new location will significantly improve access to industry-recognised training for professionals and businesses across North-east Scotland.

Dan Bloyce, general manager of the Electronics Group, which was established in 2003, said: “This is a major step forward in our mission to make high-quality electronics training more accessible to professionals and businesses throughout the UK.

“Until now, many of our customers in Scotland have had to travel significant distances to achieve certification. By opening this dedicated facility on the Innovation Park in Aberdeen, we’re removing that barrier and giving local professionals the opportunity to train and certify without leaving the region.”

Gordon Pirie, asset manager at Aberdeen Energy & Innovation Parks, added: “We are delighted to welcome the Electronics Group to Aberdeen Innovation Park. Their decision to establish their first Scottish training centre here underlines the strong demand we continue to see from high-quality, skills-led and technology-focused occupiers.

“Davidson House offers a flexible, well-connected working environment and we look forward to supporting the Electronics Group as they grow their presence in the North-east.”

Acquired by AM Sci Tech - a subsidiary of Hurstwood Holdings - in December 2023, the two Aberdeen parks comprise 200,000 sq ft of multi-let office and industrial space for a community of 120 occupiers and a workforce of nearly 2,000 employees in the Bridge of Don area of the city.
