Edinburgh legal firm takes ‘exciting step forward’ with takeover of Falkirk practice
“Strategically, the acquisition strengthens our presence across Scotland while introducing an established commercial property capability” – Kevin McLuskey, director
Edinburgh’s VMH Solicitors has hailed a “significant milestone” after sealing a deal to acquire Falkirk-based Orme Law.
The deal, on undisclosed terms, brings together two well-established Scottish legal firms, combining VMH Solicitors' strengths in residential property, private client services and estate agency with Orme Law’s reputation in commercial property, commercial leasing and business legal services.
The move will also extend VMH’s geographic reach through Orme Law’s offices in Falkirk giving the firm a presence across Edinburgh, the Lothians and the wider Central Belt.

VMH said the addition of a dedicated commercial property services team marked a “significant milestone” for the practice, enabling it to expand its legal advice to business owners, investors, landlords, developers and commercial clients alongside its existing private client and residential property offering.
Director Kevin McLuskey said: “This acquisition is an exciting step forward for VMH Solicitors and reflects our ambition to continue growing a Scottish legal practice built around exceptional client service. Strategically, the acquisition strengthens our presence across Scotland while introducing an established commercial property capability that perfectly compliments our existing services.
“Orme Law has built a strong reputation for advising businesses, landlords, developers and investors on commercial property transactions, leasing and business matters, while also providing residential conveyancing and private client services.”
Alan Orme, founder of Orme Law, said: “Merging with VMH Solicitors represents an exciting opportunity for our clients, our people and the future of the practice. We have always placed great importance on delivering high-quality legal advice with a personal approach, and it quickly became clear that VMH shares those same values.
“Our clients will continue to receive the service and trusted relationships they value, while benefiting from the additional expertise, resources and wider range of legal services that VMH Solicitors offer. We are looking forward to becoming part of VMH Solicitors and the next stage of the firm’s growth,” he added.
Existing Orme Law clients will continue to be supported by their current legal teams, ensuring continuity of service throughout the integration process, bosses added.
