Artisan Scottish chilli and strawberry jams to hit shelves of 153 Scotmid stores

“It’s a huge opportunity to bring a real taste of the Bothy to communities nationwide” – Kim Cameron

An artisan jam maker is celebrating after securing a national listing across more than 150 Scotmid stores.

Jam Bothy, founded by Kim Cameron, has spent the last 11 years perfecting traditional recipes in the heart of Angus.

The small-batch preserve maker has been named a champion in the prestigious Scotmid Scottish Favourites contest and the partnership will see its chilli jam rolled out across 153 Scotmid stores from late March, followed by the firm’s strawberry jam from May.

Jam Bothy said it remained committed to small batches, local seasonal fruit, and “authentic flavours rooted in the Scottish countryside”.

Cameron said: “To see our chilli jam go from our kitchen to 153 stores across the country is a dream come true for our team. It’s a huge opportunity to bring a real taste of the Bothy to communities nationwide.”

The partnership is expected to have a ripple effect on the local economy, supporting the brand’s commitment to sourcing seasonal ingredients from Scottish growers.

Steven Addison, category manager, local sourcing, Scotmid, added: “Local sourcing is incredibly significant to us, and we are privileged to collaborate with an exceptional variety of suppliers nationwide. We are delighted to be working with Jam Bothy.

“Scotland genuinely boasts some of the finest food and drink globally, and the quality of local products continues to improve each year.”

The Scottish Favourites initiative is conducted by Scotmid Co-operative in partnership with Scotland Food & Drink. This year’s competition placed a specific emphasis on innovation, seeking products that offer a modern twist on traditional Scottish staples.
