The Oasis reunion is officially on, with a British tour next year including three dates at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on August 8, 9 and 12.
It will be the 43rd, 44th and 45th time that the Manchester band have played Scotland, starting with a tiny gig at King Tut’s in Glasgow when they were famously ‘discovered’ by manager Alan McGee.
Of course it won’t just be Oasis, with two or three support bands also likely to perform on the night.
And Oasis have a pretty good track record when it comes to choosing the acts who open for them - the list of previous supports read like a who’s who of music - from Supergrass, The Happy Mondays, The Verve and Manic Street Preachers, to The Coral, The Foo Fighters, Travis and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
Nothing has yet been announced for their big UK reunion tour, but there will likely be some familiar names on the bill.
So, who will be opening for the band at their two huge Murrayfield gigs? We have some ideas.

5. Ocean Colour Scene
Ocean Colour Scene were the main support for the opening night of Oasis' legendary Knebworth gigs in 1996. That came a year after Noel Gallagher personally invited them to join Oasis on tour in 1995 after heading a demo tape. The band, led by frontman Simon Fowler, were one of the biggest bands of the late 1990s thanks to second album 'Mosely Shoals'. Their third album 'Marchin' Already' knocked Oasis' 'Be Here Now' off the top of the charts, but we're sure there aren't any lingering hard feelings. 6. Afflecks Palace
Fellow Mancunians Afflecks Palace seem to radiate the same mix of confidence and arrogance that Oasis had in their pomp. Named after an indoor market in Manchester, the four-piece have a DIY attitude and would hugely benefit from a high-profile support slot at Murrayfield and beyond. | Contributed

7. The Lottery Winners
Last year's 'Anxiety Replacement Therapy' saw indie popsters The Lottery Winners claim their first UK number one album. When they supported Nickelback earlier this year the two bands performed Oasis' 'Don't Look Back in Anger' together. They have also supported Noel Gallager's High Flying Birds, so a step up to opening for Oasis could be on the cards. | Contributed

8. Blossoms
Stockport indie band Blossoms have also supported Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds on tour and, during a recent show in Manchester, covered Oasis song 'Half The World Away'. A couple of days later the band's new tour was announced - did Blossoms already know? | Getty Images
