007 First Light: Lana Del Rey shares surprise James Bond theme song

Lana Del Rey’s new Bond theme will accompany the title sequence for new game 007: First Light.

Lana Del Rey has shared the official theme song of upcoming James Bond video game, 007: First Light ahead of its release.

The American singer-songwriter surprised fans with First Light, which was co-written by David Arnold, a renowned composer who has worked on five Bond films in the past including Casino Royale.

It comes more than a decade after Del Rey submitted 24 - which ended up on her Honeymoon album - to be considered as the theme for 2015 film Spectre, which ultimately went to Sam Smith’s song Writing’s On The Wall.

Meanwhile, the track will accompany the game of the same name. From Hitman developers IO Interactive, the upcoming title is a reimagined origin story for the iconic MI6 agent. Unconnected to any of the books or films, it is due to be released on Wednesday, May 27 after several delays.
