Lawrence letter fetches £30,000
A BOOK that contained a previously unknown letter from Lawrence of Arabia describing his experiences at an RAF base in Lincolnshire sold for a record £33,000 at auction in Edinburgh yesterday.
The letter from TE Lawrence to Francis Rennell, later Lord Rennell, was found inside a rare copy of his book The Seven Pillars Of Wisdom, which inspired David Lean's 1962 film Lawrence Of Arabia.
