Everything to know about Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl as hero named 'evil inventor' in new trailer

Ben Whitehead will play a Wallace accused of being an “evil inventor” a new Vengeance Most Fowl trailer has revealed.

A new trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl has been released.

The upcoming film is set be released on the BBC this Christmas, with the new trailer revealing more details about the plot - and the evil mastermind behind it.

It the first feature length Wallace & Gromit film for almost a decade and filmmakers have promised fans that it will be an emotional comeback for the iconic claymation heroes.

Here’s everything we know about Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl so far – including who is taking over as the voice of Wallace and what was revealed in the newly released trailer.

What is Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl about? Is it a full length film?

Co-directed by Merlin Crossingham and series creator Nick Park, Vengeance Most Fowl is the second feature length Wallace & Gromit film with a runtime of 79 minutes.

The dynamic duo of Wallace and Gromit will be joined by Wallace’s latest invention, Norbot – a pre-programmed smart gnome designed to do any kind of gardening task or “gnome improvement” who quickly becomes popular with the locals.

However, as Gromit grows concerned that Wallace depends too heavily on his inventions suddenly Norbot appears to develop an evil mind of his own leaving his loyal pooch to put aside his qualms to battle sinister forces.

Perhaps even supervillain Feathers McGraw, who has been released from prison and is out for revenge following his previous encounters with Wallace and Gromit in multi-award winning 1993 short film, The Wrong Trousers.

During Deadline’s Contenders London event, co-director Park said: “Wallace is well meaning. He’s not a bad guy, but it’s kind of a metaphor for how we’re in love with tech and sometimes it gets in the way of relationships. Gromit would be a lot happier without the tech, inventions and gadgets.”

He also shared that McGraw’s presence was a later addition to the story.

He said: “Just machines going wrong seemed a bit normal. We needed something with a bit more bite, and someone with an actual clear, sinister motive. Feathers McGraw was obviously the perfect candidate, having sat in jail for 30 years, languishing, thinking of nothing but revenge. It seemed like the perfect motivation for a villain.”

New Vengeance Most Fowl trailer labels Wallace as an ‘evil inventor’

A new trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl sees our cheese loving protagonist accused of being behind a crime wave sweeping the region.

With reporters on their doorstep, we see Gromit involved in a number of high stakes situations with a canal boat sequence worthy of a Bond film.

Meanwhile, as Wallace protests his innocence and questions who is behind all the madness, we see Feathers McGraw reintroduced as he plays the organ. Revealing himself to viewers, he slowly spins in his chair and sips from a mug that says “world’s best boss” as the dramatic music plays.
