The nights are getting darker earlier and the wind is howling more than usual - which can only mean one thing...The Witching Hour is almost upon us!
Yes, that's the right, one of the most celebrated holiday of the year, Halloween, is just around the corner and, if you're a horror fanatic like me, this is like Christmas for many of us.
While many of us will give our old favourites a watch (what is Halloween without at least one viewing of Scream and Nightmare On Elm Street?) we can't fail to have noticed how positive of a year it has been for the horror genre, with a host of terrifying new films launched in the past 12 months.
Want to know which 2023 horror films you should watch first? We've pieced together 10 of the best new horror films you NEED to watch this Halloween.

5. Scream
Far from a lame attempt at grabbing extra cash, the Scream franchise goes from strength to strength with many fans claiming Scream VI as the best since the original. Brutal kills and the return of some fan favourites make this an excellent addition to the Ghostface legend. Available to stream via Paramount+ or to buy via Sky Store from £13.99. Photo: Netflix

6. Knock At The Cabin
American director M. Night Shyamalan seems capable of making only brilliant film, or horrendous ones. Thankfully for horror fans, Knock At The Cabin is more of the latter and features an excellent performance from former Wrestler David Batista. Available to stream via Sky Store and NOW TV from £9.99. 7. Pearl
A spin off from the fantastic 'X' released last year, this slasher from Ti West takes audiences into the twisted origin story of Pearl. Currently available to buy from Amazon Prime Video for just £4.99 or to rent via Sky Store for £5.49. | Getty Images

8. Infinity Pool
Mia Goth (Pearl) stars alongside Alexander Skarsgård in the futuristic mind bending movie that came from the mind Brandon Cronenberg. The film begins when a bunch of rich couples commit crimes on a luxury island and seemingly get with it freely - on one condition. Able to be streamed via Sky Store, YouTube and Apple TV for £11.99, with a rental option also available via Amazon Prime Video priced at £4.99. | 4film
