Ever since Walt Disney released the first full-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, in 1937 animation has been big business on the cinema screen.
They regularly top box office charts and often seem immune to any critical mauling - particularly during school holidays when parents are looking for activities for bored kids.
This week saw Disney sequel Inside Out 2 become the most profitable animated film in history, easing clear of previous top dog Frozen 2.
It also became only the 11th animated film to make over $1 billion.
Here are all 11.

9. Despicable Me 3
The third in the Despicable Me series was released in 2017 and has made $1.034 billion. Once again starrring Steve Carell as Gru, it sees the supervillain teams up with long-lost twin brother Dru to stop former child star Balthazar from destroying Hollywood. | Illumination

10. Finding Dory
While there's no roon on this list for Finding Nemo (it's 15th on the list), there is a spot for sequel Finding Dory which earned $1.028 billion. Released in 2016 it follows the amnesiac titular fish who is on a journey to find her parents. It stars Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy. | Walt Disney Studios

11. Zootopia
Completing our list, and the 11th and last film to earn more than $1 billion at the box office, is Zootopia. Released in 2016 it takes place in a city inhabited by anthropomorphised animals, where a police officer rabbit and criminal fox team up to solve a heinous crime.
