Henry Cavill gave fans a glimpse of his role as Scottish warrior Connor MacLeod in the upcoming Highlander reboot.
Henry Cavill has teased fans with a first look at the upcoming Highlander reboot.
The English actor shared two images of himself in costume as immortal Scottish warrior Connor MacLeod on social media, writing that it had been “quite the journey”.
He said: “Happy First Look for Highlander! This has been quite the journey for me, which I'll tell you all about when the time is right, but it's a special moment to be able to share this. I hope you enjoy.”
Directed by John Wick filmmaker Chad Stahelski, Highlander was due to begin filming in Scotland last September. However, production was pushed back after Cavill sustained an injury during training for the film.
It was one of many delays to the reboot, which was has been in the works since around 2008. Production has been pushed back several times over the years, with issues such as the 2022 Hollywood writers’ strike all playing a role.

Cavill was first announced as MacLeod back in 2021, with his fellow co-stars including Inverness-born actress Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Russell Crowe and Jeremy Irons.
With filming now under way, we can expect to see the Highlander reboot shooting on location in Scotland in the near future with an open casting call on Casting Collective looking for extras who live within reasonable driving distance of Glen Coe for a “major feature film”.
As for when the film will arrive in cinemas, there is no confirmed release date for Highlander.
