This week saw the debut of WWE Raw on Netflix, with the streaming giant now home to the ‘sports entertainment’ of professional wrestling.
The latest plots, beefs and bouts will not be available every Monday, 52-weeks a year, as the wrestling roadshow travels across the USA and beyond.
The opening episode hosted some of WWE’s biggest names, including The Rock, John Cena, and the Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes.
Wrestling newcomers also got to meet Drew McIntyre, Scotland’s very own star of the ring, who was born in Ayr and educated at Pretwick Academy before becoming a professional wrestler.
McIntyre - real name Andrew McLean Galloway IV - started his wrestling career in the UK with British Championship Wrestling (BCW) and Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW), before heading to American for his first stint with the WWE from 2007-2014, when he was released after being demoted to lower-card status.
He wrestled for a number of different organisations before making a triumphant return to WWE in 2017 and it now one of the biggest names in the business.
