The evenings are getting darker and colder, and those beer-garden-evenings feel far behind us now.

If you’re on the look out for interesting things to see around Edinburgh, we have you covered. Here are five shows you can see in the Capital over the next few weeks.

Thrice, Traverse Theatre, Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24

Macbeth is dead. Who will now heal the land?

Thrice begins as Macbeth ends, and follows nine women - three trios - as they deal with the aftermath.

A world of uncertainty, bloodshed and ruin. This performance is an exploration of that world through movement, dance, text and music.

The description adds: “Thrice seeks to challenge the legacy of persecution attached to the word ‘witch’, asking us to listen differently, and to imagine new forms of care and dignity. “

Toto the Ninja Cat , The Kings Theatre, Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25

Based on Dermot O’Leary’s best-selling children’s book, the take is full of music and puppetry.

It follows the antics of Toto, the almost blind ninja cat with a “big heart and a nose for adventure.”
