From Estonia with Sarcasm! Stand up comedy solo show on life, love and best, worst pick up lines.
Come along and leave enlightened on some of life’s most puzzling questions such as “What do all Eastern Europeans have in common?”, “Can feminism be flexible?” and “Why the white unicorn?”. If you love sarcasm, honest conversations and feeling like you are having a drink with friendswhere just one friend does most of the talking, then this show is for you!
The Adventures of the White Unicorn premiered at the Tallinn Fringe Festival in August 2023 and what better way to mark the anniversary than performing at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in celebration of her first solo show. In her sincere way, Heli talks TO the audience and not AT them, giving the show not so much a comedian on stage, but old friends catching up for a drink vibe. On stage, Heli bares it all and does not hold back - in her witty, funny and vulnerable way, she takes you along on her adventures from cultural stereotypes, heartbreak and crazy pick up lines.
Heli Pärna started performing stand up in 2022 due to too many events in her life that needed to be shared with others. She has performed as the headliner in Side Splitters Comedy showcase and opened for Derek Mitchel’s Double Dutch and Magdulicious’s Beast from the East. Since the premier of her solo show in August 2023 she has spread the laughter onto stages in Brussels, Luxembourg, Geneva, The Netherlands, England and New Zealand.
Heli is based in Brussels, Belgium where she regularly performs, directs and writes. She also runs and hosts the bi-weekly Funny Women Brussels show.
***‘Great show from Heli Pärna tonight! People should definitely catch the next one!’
***‘Brilliant show, wish I could make it for another round!’
***‘Congratulations on the mastery of deep insights into shallow Tinder pick-up one liners and explaining the difference between expat and immigrant. Shout out to the one and only Heli and her first solo program.’
