This week saw the launch of the full programme for the Edinburgh International Film Festival, with a string of premieres and special guests for cineasts to enjoy.
It was the last of the Scottish Capital’s major summer festivals to show its hand - following the Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Edinburgh Art Festival, and the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
Together they offer a bewildering array of thousands of shows and events to enjoy for three weeks in August.
There’s not long to go now, so if you’ve not bagged any tickets it’s time to get the highlighter out and go through the programme - as some shows are already selling out.
The festivals have always attracted plenty of famous folk - either to see a few show or to appear in them.
Here are 13 of the biggest stars you can see in Edinburgh this August.
