Burgas confirmed as Eurovision 2027 host city following Bulgaria's win

Eurovision 2027 will take place in Burgas, as Bulgaria host the annual song contest for the first time.
The seaside city of Burgas in Bulgaria has been revealed as the host city of Eurovision 2027.
Representing her country with the song Bangaranga, Dara secured Bulgaria’s first ever Eurovision Song Contest victory in Vienna this May.
Marking the country’s first time hosting the competition, Eurovision will be staged at Bulgaria’s newest sports and entertainment centre Arena Burgas, with three massive live shows to take place on Tuesday, May 11, Thursday, May 13 and Saturday, May 15 2027.

The fourth largest city in Bulgaria, Burgas is well known for its beaches, parks and culture and already has strong reputation for live music as well as arts and international cultural festivals.

Eurovision 2027 to be by the seaside in Burgas
It was selected out of four possible host cities by representatives of Bulgarian National Television (BNT) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), winning out over Sofia, Varna and Plovdiv.
Burgas was chosen for its “strong overall proposition”, as well as factors including proposed venues, technical and production requirements, local infrastructure, accommodation, transport and overall commitment from the local authorities.
However, the three other contenders will also be involved in activities leading up to the event in May next year.
In a statement, the director of Eurovision, Martin Green CBE, said: “We are delighted that Burgas will be the Host City for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027.
“Burgas brings something really special to the Eurovision Song Contest. It is a vibrant, welcoming city on the Black Sea with a strong musical and cultural identity, and it has the ambition, infrastructure and passion needed to welcome the Eurovision family.
“For the first Eurovision Song Contest ever to be held in Bulgaria, we want to create something that feels truly Bulgarian while also being unmistakably Eurovision – a celebration that brings people together through music.”
