There have been thirteen winners of The Great British Bake Off crowned since 2010, with more than 100 competitors having entered the tent with hopes of taking home the coveted cake stand.
From stunning signature bakes to incredible and ornate showstoppers, it can’t be denied that some rare talent has been uncovered. And if you worship at the gingham covered altar it won't be a surprise to learn that many former bakers from Bake Off, or The Great British Baking Show if you're from the States, have released cookbooks full of their best recipes, tips and tricks.
We've decided to take a (non-exhaustive) look at some of the best books written by former Bake Off contestants; though we won’t count those which don’t focus on baking, nor will we include Bake Off branded releases.
So here are 29 cookbooks written by Great British Bake Off contestants, including Scotland's very own Peter Sawkins.

25. Aran by Flora Shedden
Another Scottish baker, Flora Shedden made her mark during Bake Off just missing out on the final. After her time on the show Flora returned to Perthshire opening up her own artisan bakery ARAN, which she also wrote a cookbook about with recipes and stories from the shop. | Hardie Grant Books

26. Crumb by Ruby Tandoh
A runner up baker during her series of the show, Ruby Tandoh has released a few cookbooks, with Crumb, her baking book, having been described as a “treat” by BBC Good Food and as a “must have” by Marie Claire UK. Recipes include classics such as sticky toffee pudding to delights such as rose and burnt honey florentines. | Vintage Publishing Penguin

27. Quinntessential Baking by Frances Quinn
Frances Quinn was an early Bake Off champion, with her beautiful bakes inspired by her background in design. Since her time on the show she has started her own YouTube series where she cooks with celebrities and also penned her own cookbook, Quintessential Baking. With praise from the likes of Heston Blumenthal who said: “Frances captures all the fun and magic of baking in this book,” it’s definitely one worth trying out. | Bloomsbury Publishers

28. B.I.Y: Bake it Yourself by Richard Burr
Richard Burr was a contestant known for his accuracy and measurements with a background in building. Reaching the final in 2014, Richard decided to pursue his first love outside of the tent, writing B.I.Y: Bake it Yourself with recipes graded on their difficulty level and the pictures incorporating his construction background – though perhaps your guests wouldn’t appreciate being served cake on a trowel as seen in the book. | Hardie Grant Quadrille
