There have been thirteen winners of The Great British Bake Off crowned since 2010, with more than 100 competitors having entered the tent with hopes of taking home the coveted cake stand.
From stunning signature bakes to incredible and ornate showstoppers, it can’t be denied that some rare talent has been uncovered. And if you worship at the gingham covered altar it won't be a surprise to learn that many former bakers from Bake Off, or The Great British Baking Show if you're from the States, have released cookbooks full of their best recipes, tips and tricks.
We've decided to take a (non-exhaustive) look at some of the best books written by former Bake Off contestants; though we won’t count those which don’t focus on baking, nor will we include Bake Off branded releases.
So here are 29 cookbooks written by Great British Bake Off contestants, including Scotland's very own Peter Sawkins.

17. Great British Bakes by Mary-Anne Boermans
One of the earliest Bake Off contestants to create their own cookbook, Mary-Anne Boermans’ Great British Bakes explores into the history of the country’s traditional baking and even resurrects long-lost recipes. From Welsh honey cake to Chocolate Meringue Pie, each recipe has been triple tested, with the book even winning the Guild of Food Writers First Book Award in 2014. | Vintage Publishing Penguin

18. Puddings by Johnny Shepherd
Series 1 contestant Johnny Shepherd should absolutely be trusted with puddings considering his St Albans businesses The Pudmobile and The Pudding Stop. Building on that success the baker even penned cookbook Puddings to help share his knowledge of the treat with fans across the country, inspired by generations of the classic dessert. | Weidenfeld & Nicolson Orion Publishing Co

19. Delicious Gluten-Free Baking by Howard Middleton
Former council worker Howard Middleton, the infamous victim of the Custardgate incident, didn’t let leaving Bake Off stop him from pursuing his baking dreams. Instead he went on to join the An Extra Slice panel, gives lessons and demonstrations across the country and even published Delicious Gluten-Free Baking with recipes from cakes and pastry to teacakes and tarts. | Robinson Little, Brown Book Group Hatchette UK

20. Bake It Great by Luis Troyano
Late Bake Off contestant Luis Troyano was a runner up during series five of Bake Off, memorably recreating The Cage, a tower in the National Trust's Lyme Park in Cheshire, which was his wife’s favourite place to visit. He published cookbook Bake it Great with a special focus on Spanish baking and honey in 2015, with excellent descriptions of textures to help distinguish your bakes. | Pavilion Harper Collins
