Senior TT winner Davey Todd is among a star-studded line-up for this summer’s Bayview Hotel Armoy Road Races.

The Saltburn man claimed his maiden Isle of Man TT victory in the Superstock race earlier this month before lifting the prestigious silverware in the blue riband Senior finale on the Milwaukee BMW to cap a memorable week.

Todd – who won the feature ‘Race of Legends’ at Armoy in 2022 – is confirmed among the entries for Northern Ireland’s TAS Racing team at the Co Antrim meeting, which takes place from July 26-27.

The official launch of the 2024 race was held at the Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae yesterday, when guests included racers Dominic Herbertson, Jeremy McWilliams, Ryan Whitehall and Neil Kernohan.

Home hero Michael Dunlop missed the event in 2022 but returned in style last year, winning the headline race for a record 10th time as part of a fantastic five-timer.

The Ballymoney man made history at the TT, becoming the most successful rider in history on the island with 29 victories after claiming a quadruple.

Dunlop’s attendance at Armoy next month has yet to be confirmed.

Along with Todd, entries include Yorkshireman Jamie Coward on the KTS Racing machines – including the Stanley Stewart Triumph 765.

Coward was ruled out last year when he was involved in a cycling accident shortly before the meeting.

Derek Sheils is also set to take his place on the grid on the Roadhouse Macau BMW with fellow southern Irishmen Michael Sweeney and Mike Browne, who will ride the IN Competition Aprilia.

England’s Herbertson – fresh from a maiden podium at the TT in the opening Supertwin race – leads the charge for Ulster team Burrows Engineering/RK Racing.

“The Armoy Road Races is something I look forward to year on year as it has become one of the most prestigious competitions in the Irish road racing calendar,” said Herbertson.

“This year, I will be riding for Burrows Engineering/RK Racing and competing in the Open, Superport and Race of Legends class.

“If the last few years are anything to go by, the competition will be incredibly tough but I'm up for the challenge and will be doing all I can to be standing on a podium or two.”
