Mark Allen fell at the first hurdle in the defence of his Masters title on Sunday.
The Northern Irishman made a significant career breakthrough at the Alexandra Palace a year ago when he beat Kyren Wilson for a first Triple Crown win.
However, Belgian Luca Brecel ensured he would not defend the trophy, beating him 6-5 in a high-quality opening match of the 2019 tournament.
