Two arrested after town centre incidents

The incidents took place in the Meadow Lane, West Street and Thomas Street areas of the town.
Detective Inspector Stephen Harvey said police received a report of an assault in the Meadow Lane area just before midnight.

Hide AdBetween 2am and 3am, they received a further two reports of an assault and robbery in the West Street area as well as criminal damage to a property in Thomas Street.
He said, “Two men, aged 36 and 21, were subsequently arrested at a house in the Thomas Street area on suspicion of a number of offences including criminal damage, common assault and robbery. They remain in custody.
“Anyone with information about these incidents should contact police in Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 93 of 8/2/17. “Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
