Thousands gather in Belfast City Hall today as the city joined the rest of the UK in marking Rememberance Day. The Main service took place in the Garden of Remembrance close to the Cenotaph with Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast Councillor Áine Groogan laying a wreath at the cenotaph on behalf of the citizens of Belfast. Press Eye - Belfast - Northern Ireland - 12th November 2023 - Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council was once more honoured to be part of The Royal British Legion’s Services of Remembrance today in Lisburn and Royal Hillsborough. In Lisburn, Mayor Councillor Andrew Gowan and Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council Chief Executive David Burns laid a wreath on behalf of the Elected Members and citizens of Lisburn and Castlereagh at the War Memorial on Castle Street. Today’s Services were organised by the Lisburn and Hillsborough Branches of the Royal British Legion, leading our communities in remembering and honouring the sacrifices of all those who gave their lives in defence of their country.
